Lara at 5 months: Lara can sit!!

Yes!! Finally my Lara can sit!  But with the help of a bolster!
I'm just happy that she can see the world from a whole new angle...
This is the muppets game she got from her Gran.  You press the musical instruments and they play sesame street music!  She loves the music and smiles when she hears it.  But she still can't press it herself.  I have to press the instruments for her.  She tried to but she doesn't have enough strength in her hands.

She is still such a rolly polly thing.  Gotta love her cheeks!  xoxo.
Here My Loori is sitting all by herself on the couch!  She's gaining more and more strength every day.  And she's exploring her environment in a brand new angle.  How exciting.  She's wearing a hand me down, from her cousin, Sonal.  Sonal has a portrait picture in her home with this same outfit on.  I love this outfit, only because it has warm sleeves and torso, but yet its airy and some material made of cotton.  I absolutely love this outfit!
Here she seems so curious!  If only I could know what she was thinking in that little big head of hers....

Lara 5 months: My Smiling Storage Containers!

Hey Listen!  When you become a Mom who gets only 2-3 hours of sleep at a time, you get a bit giddy and goofy.. and you need a few little things in life to amuse you and keep you going.  That may mean different things for different people..

But for me, it means that I need small things that make me laugh and smile.. so that my day is better.
And these containers did the absolute trick!  I don't need anything else.  I don't even need sleep.  I can go sleepless nights and just look at these containers.  They will wipe out my tiredness and bring a smile to my face.  In these times of trial, these containers become a necessity!
I AM JOKING!
I'm truly not that crazy.  But these containers are cool aren't they?

Lara 5 months: My Obsession with CuisineArt Baby

Lord Have Mercy!  I was and am so obsessed with Cuisine Art Baby!  It's the coolest thing I've ever come across!
It steams, as you can see here, I am steaming apples for little Lara, as she has no teeth and still needs things to be pureed!
And then!  It blends the steamed fruits or veggies!  Amazing!  All in one!  Not to mention that you can actually steam your bottle of milk on the back side of this contraption!

Thank You Cuisine Art for making my life so much easier!  I love this Gadget!  :) I think I'll keep using it to make apple sauce long after Lara and any future kids are grown and gone.

Lara at 6 months: July 31, 2013: Lara's Play Room!!

When Lara turned 6 months, I knew I had to create a play room for her.  She was starting to move around on the mat and she was more or less done with the swings.  She didn't want to sit in one place and just swing back and forth.  It was apparently too boring for her.

So, I put one of the swings away, and I put the other swing in a corner, hoping that she would stay in it when she got tired.  But, I think she only used the swing one time once I put it in the play room.
You can see the swing in the corner of the room on the right side.  That telescope is quite the anachronism in this room, but she really wasn't walking at this point and we didn't think she would go anywhere near it.  Plus, she was mostly in her jumper, which you can see on the far left of the room.  And boy did she JUMP!

At this point in her life, at 6 months, she could mostly just roll around with effort on the activity gym, which you can see in the picture above.  We picked a forest scene so she could see animals and the scene was pretty and colorful... easy on the eyes...
And I couldn't resist putting a lounge chair in the room to make it cozy for me as well and of course a small "library".  I couldn't leave out my peeping Tom the Giraffe.. I love giraffes!  It was so much fun to decorate this room!  Since our theme was animals and jungle by default, it was easy to stick with that theme and put decals of animals all over the place.
